Juergen Mark is a disputes lawyer with more than 20 years’
experience in handling both domestic and international
commercial disputes. As a partner at the Duesseldorf office
of Baker & McKenzie, he has represented clients before both
German courts and arbitral tribunals in International Chamber
of Commerce (ICC), German Institution of Arbitration (DIS) and
ad hoc
arbitration cases. He has also acted as arbitrator in
arbitration proceedings under the ICC and DIS rules. Among
other things, he deals with disputes relating to corporate and
post-M&A matters, major projects, product liability, corruption
and distribution.
Dr Mark regularly speaks at seminars on topics of domestic
and international arbitration, German and European procedural
law and company-related disputes. He is one of the co-editors
of the Baker & McKenzie
International Arbitration Yearbook
co-author of its German chapter.
Dr Mark started his career at the Frankfurt office of Baker
& McKenzie in 1990. He was one of the founding partners of
the Duesseldorf office in 1999. He received a doctorate from
the University of Muenster, Germany and a master of laws from
McGill University, Montreal, Canada. Dr Mark was admitted
to the German Bar in 1990. He speaks English and German.
