Client Choice – International 2013
Renato Antonini, who has received for the third time running
the Client Choice Award for trade and customs in the European
Union, is a partner at Jones Day, specialising in EU trade and
customs law, World Trade Organisation (WTO) law and EU
competition law. Mr Antonini has assisted clients in many EU
trade defence investigations, such as anti-dumping, anti-subsidy
and anti-circumvention investigations, as well as a full range of
other trade matters, and has successfully defended clients’
interests before the EU institutions and courts. He has also
assisted clients with EU and Italian customs law matters, such
as tariff classification, customs valuation and export controls.
Mr Antonini’s client base is composed of governments and
international companies that require specialist advice in the field
of international trade and customs law. Mr Antonini has been
selected by governments to provide training courses for
ministerial officials. He is a regular speaker at seminars and
conferences, and leads a centre for studies of EU trade and
customs law. In addition to writing articles for legal publications,
he has collaborated in the fourth and fifth editions of a leading
treatise on EU trade protection regulations.

from the University
of Rome and received an LLM from the University of Edinburgh.
