Carlos de Icaza Aneiros is a partner with Creel, García-Cuéllar,
Aiza y Enriquez in Mexico City, where he chairs the firm’s
environmental law practice group and is also a member of its
real estate department. He specialises in environmental law and
also has experience in real estate law and related business
transactions. He has actively represented major industrial
groups, real estate investment and development companies
and private equity funds involved in the industrial, tourism,
retail and housing sectors, requiring environmental
and real estate law advice for their Mexican ventures.
Mr de Icaza is a member of the international Climate Markets
and Investors Association and the Environmental Law Institute’s
recently launched Mexico-US Climate Law Network.
Mr de Icaza obtained his JD from the
Instituto Tecnológico
Autónomo de México
in Mexico City in 1997 and his LLM degree
from McGill University in Montreal, Canada in 2000. He worked
as a foreign associate at the Los Angeles office of Paul Hastings
LLP in 2000 to 2001, and he re-joined Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza
y Enriquez in 2002, having previously worked there from 1995
to 1999.
For the past few years Mr de Icaza has been consistently
