Felice B Ekelman is a partner in the New York City office of
Jackson Lewis LLP. Ms Ekelman specialises in wage and hour
litigation and has represented a multitude of clients in collective
and class action litigations involving misclassification issues,
off-the-clock work, and donning and doffing claims.
Her general employment litigation experience includes jury
and bench trials and appellate arguments before state and
federal courts. In addition, Ms Ekelman has represented
employers in hundreds of employment and labour arbitrations
involving commission and compensation disputes, enforcement
of restrictive covenants, collective bargaining contract
interpretation issues, and termination disputes. She also
regularly represents employers before the federal and New York
State Departments of Labour and assists clients with ongoing
compliance efforts. Ms Ekelman’s traditional labour law
experience includes representation of both unionised and
union-free employers. For clients with bargaining relationships,
she negotiates collective bargaining agreements; she also
represents clients in arbitrations, litigation involving Taft Hartley
fund disputes and litigation under the Labour Management
Relations Act.
Ms Ekelman received her undergraduate degree from the
Johns Hopkins University and her JD from Albany Law School.
She has been listed in
New York Super Lawyers
from 2009 to
2012 and has a Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Rating of
AV® Preeminent™. She is a member of the New York Bar and
is admitted to practise in numerous district courts across the
country, as well as the US Court of Appeals for the Second
and Third Circuits.
